Nora is a native-born Oaxaqueña and earned her federal tour guide certification at La Universidad del Mar (UMAR) right here in the city. Oaxaca has a beautiful historic center, which has been preserved and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Stroll through its charming streets and be captivated by its impressive colonial architecture, its bustling markets, its baroque churches with their elaborate gilded interiors, and its rich history.
Itinerary
Meet your guide, Nora, and prepare for your tour of Oaxaca! We’ll start off in the center of the city to explore the wonders of the downtown area, while Nora gives you historical and cultural background to deepen your understanding of what you are seeing.
Your tour will include stops at the Zócalo, (town square), the impressive Temple of Santo Domingo, The Basilica de la Soledad (Our Lady of Solitude), the markets of 20 de Noviembre and Benito Juarez, the museum Casa de Juárez, the Casa de Artesenias and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The group will have lunch together at the same location.*
