Your personal guide while exploring Oaxaca is native-born Nora Andrea Valencia who is a graduate of UMAR (La Universidad del Mar) where she earned her federal tour guide license with her thesis topic being "Textiles of Oaxaca” and has been guiding as well as instructing cookery classes for over 25 years. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Nora will gladly take you on an adventurous journey explaining either the local ruins, remarkable textiles and the exquisite work of the local craftsman.
About Nora Andrea
A native of the city of Oaxaca, with her roots deriving from the Zapotecs of the valley, Nora's family has been in the hospitality business in one form or the other ever since she can remember. Intermingling with guest who rented rooms in her parents home when young, Nora acquired the skill of speaking of her homeland and wanting to share what she adored. Nora has been a federal guide for 22 years and wrote her thesis on the textiles of Oaxaca. She attended law school but derives a much deeper pleasure in sharing her culture with others, either through her cookery classes or through her tours. She speaks both Spanish, English.
